Title: Detroit guys muffler
Post by: Yaroslav Melnikov on July 30, 2012, 03:01:42 PM
Here are some photos of carbon muffler made by Lou Scavone and Ron Marchioni from Detroit, Michigan USA.
I haven't tried it myself due to the large size of the muffler, but per the developers and some other F2D guys opinion - it's the best muffler up to date for F2D engines.
Lou and Ron are planning to make them for sale as well, once I have the info - I will broadcast the contact and the pricing.

P.S. sorry for the photo quality - made the pics with my cell phone camera. Once I have a chance to photograph the muffler with a regular camera - will update the photos.

Oh ya, I remember those at team trials. Very cool. Think Lou was using them. They were a bit big, any solution to make um fit? May ask builder to fit.

hey man!
that's the reason I still haven't fly-tested them. Even if it's better than the other mufflers, the survivability in mid-airs must be very poor due to the large size.
But we'll see what sort of rules our Euro friends will bring up this year. Perhaps the rules are going to be so deadly - any bit like this muffler will be helpful to let F2D engine work OK!  ;D
